What is A Quiet Place About?

The movie begins on Day 89 of their ordeal, when they go into town for supplies. Beau finds a toy space shuttle that makes noise when powered on, but Lee takes it away from him, knowing it could attract the creatures. However, Regan gives the toy back to Beau, who secretly takes the batteries as well. On their way back to the farm, Beau turns on the toy, causing a loud noise that alerts one of the creatures. Lee tries to save him, but it is too late. The creature kills Beau and the family is devastated.
The movie then jumps to Day 472, when Evelyn is pregnant and the family is preparing for the arrival of the baby. They have set up a soundproof basement with a crib, an oxygen tank, and a mattress to cover the entrance. They also have a system of lights to signal danger or safety.
